Stupid Americans & Obamacare

It’s been proven over and over again.

By Jimmy Kimmel, George Carlin, and Bill Maher.

Even by the brilliant people at Fox News.

America is supremely ill informed and for the most part, just plain stupid. I don’t care if I catch flack for it because there is so much evidence it can’t be denied. It’s time to stop sugarcoating things. America, when it comes to current events domestically and internationally, you need to get your life together.

Cue the Rant

Do you know what drives me crazy? Dumb people who don’t know they are dumb. They are the worst!
Instead of forming their own opinions, they take the side of their parents and stick to it no matter what. They’re not open to other policies. They watch one news channel halfheartedly to get a half-truth. They aren’t searching for the why. They’re just idling, watching as history comes and goes.

Did you see Jimmy Kimmel go around Hollywood Blvd and ask random people if they preferred the Affordable Care Act or “Obamacare”? Did you see that no one had any idea they were the same thing? That’s partly the media’s fault. Corporations like Fox News have succeeded in subliminally skewing and warping Obama’s historic healthcare law and making people believe its doing something its not.

And if you haven’t figured it out yet, the media takes advantage of and knows its power. Some (like Fox News) don’t even hide the fact that they are trying to manipulate and influence decisions. They are literally a big reason why an entire segment of the country are delusional, ill-informed, babbling idiots.

That’s really not even the sad part. The sad part is that folks like Jimmy Kimmel have hours and hours of material of them asking normal people about current events and those people consistently give the wrong answer or don’t know anything period.

Since media outlets are doing that, can you imagine what other stuff the media has tried to influence and manipulate in the past? This isn’t some conspiracy rant where I question everything the government is doing and believe they have some greater plan of world domination or NWO or ‘the illuminati’. Anyone that does and really gives these idiots in Congress or head of corporations that much credit obviously hasn’t been paying attention to these guys. That’s like accusing a 3-year-old of writing Shakespeare. Get real.

It’s not just the media’s fault. It is more of our fault as Americans for allowing them to play us as fools. I’m all about self-accountability. There should be no reason why American adults are so ill informed, especially in this internet age when we have access to so much information from so many different angles and points of view.

We need to start caring about what goes on in politics and Washington because it does ultimately affect your life in very enormous ways. In this instant gratification society, we tend to ignore things that don’t have an instantaneous affect on our life and that’s bad, especially when it comes to government and policies because nothing they do is even remotely fast or instantaneous but it affects our lives supremely.

The bottom line is that most of America is stupid and it makes me mad. There is no excuse to be stupid. CNN should not be your be all, end all and neither should Fox News or any news company. You should know what laws are being passed and what’s going on even a little bit in politics especially if it affects you or will affect you. If you and everyone else in America made informed, rational and bipartisan decisions you would know that the government didn’t shut down because of the Affordable Health Care Act. You would know it shut down because a small segment of the Republican Party, called the Tea Party, kept attaching provisions to a routine spending budget to try to stall and delay the implementation of this historic health care act. They did this mainly because if it’s a success, the Republican party will take years to recover from this beating the Democrats are giving them. They’re already in the hole so they have nothing to lose.

That’s it for this week. Don’t forget to cue the Sir Charles.
